Parents need to be prepared, equipped and even encourage questions, comments and dialogue about adoption with their friends, family, community, and especially their children. Building Blocks is one of four workshops, in our four part series: Talking With Children About Adoption. Parents will learn how their journey to adoption impacts what they bring to their child’s story, and how they became a part of each others lives.
This workshop is appropriate for adoptive parents, waiting parents, birth/first parents and professionals.
We will also cover:
- The importance of understanding your journey to adoption (as parents), and how it plays an important role in helping you talk to your child about adoption.
- How talking with family, friends and your community impacts your children and how they experience their adoption story.
